The top three teams qualify for the UEFA Champions League and the team placed fourth qualifies for the UEFA Europa League. The fifth and sixth placed teams can also qualify for the UEFA Europa League, depending on the winners of the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue.

The 2019–20 French Ligue 1 is due to take place from 9 August 2019 to 23 May 2020.
