2020 British Open Championship

The oldest of the four major championships in professional golf and the only major outside the United States, the Open has been held in the United Kingdom since 1860.

It is run the by The Royal & Ancient (R&A) and is currently the fourth major of the year in July, sitting after the The Masters, US Open and the PGA Championship.

Often thought of as the most original major, and for some the most elusive, The Open is drawn of a field of 156 from all over the world with multiple ways of qualifying.

It can be won by lowly ranked players as well as the greatest elders of the game, however the statistics show that the Open is still most likely to go to one of the top elite players on the circuit.

Always played in the United Kingdom, and often on links courses, the Open fields some of the most variable and challenging conditions on the professional circuit. The links courses especially requiring a particular skill set and imagination to conquer.

The 2020 Open Championship will be held at Royal St George’s Golf Club in Sandwich, England between 16 July, 2020 and 19 July, 2020.
