2024 Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe runs over a distance of 2,400 metres (approx.1.5 miles) at Le Hippodrome de Longchamp in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, and usually takes place on the first Sunday of October.

This beautiful race course is widely celebrated due to its varied terrain and a thrilling hill section that tests even the best jockey’s in the world. The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe dominates the Longchamp calendar and is one of the most prestigious horse races in Europe – and one of the world’s richest turf race.

Sometimes known simply as the ‘Arc’ this Group 1 flat horse race is open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older, and it usually features many highly acclaimed horse and jockey champions from all over the world.

Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) took over the sponsorship in 2008 and since then it has doubled the prize fund for the Arc from €2 million to €4 million.

There are no bookmakers on this course, betting is done strictly through the French tote, Pari Mutuel Counters, and the payout is not decided until all the bets are placed.

The 2024 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe horse race will be held on Sunday, 4 October 2020.
