2025 Arkle Challenge Trophy

The Arkle Challenge Trophy, also known as The Arkle Chase, is a Grade 1 National Hunt steeplechase race held on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival (a Tuesday) and is run at Cheltenham over a distance of 2 miles. The Cheltenham Festival takes place annually in March at Cheltenham Racecourse in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The Arkle was established in the 1940’s and it was originally for novice chasers. The Arkle gets it’s name from a horse called Arkle, a three-time winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup in the mid-1960s.

The 2020 Arkle Challenge Trophy horse race will be held on Tuesday 10 March 2020.
