Goodwood Racecourse is a horse racing track five miles north of Chichester in West Sussex. In the late 18th century, at the request of Lord George Bentinck, Goodwood became the location for the first flag start on a British racecourse. The course is used for flat racing only and has an unusual, complex racecourse with a straight six furlongs.
Retired veteran jockey Richard Hughes enjoyed success at Goodwood and trainers who seem to do well include Richard Hannon and Mark Johnston who has had over 60 winners at Goodwood since 1991 and been leading trainer nine times.
